ABOUT :

Sole Satana is a photographer based in Murcia, Spain. She studied Audiovisual Image (2009–2011) and Artistic Photography (2011–2012). Her work has been exhibited in Murcia and Krakow, and featured in a range of international publications including British Journal of Photography, Der Greif, It's Nice That, Metal Magazine, and PHmuseum, among others. In 2019, she published her first photobook, Fiambre, co-authored with her partner JD Valiente and released by No-Plata.

Satana’s work is closely connected to her personal life and world. Often grounded in lived experience, her images reflect the people, spaces, and atmospheres that surround her. She is drawn to reclaiming the aesthetic of the peripheral, the sometimes ignored—what is often dismissed or considered outside conventional taste—bringing these overlooked elements into focus from an intimate and visually compelling approach.

Her work frequently explores themes of identity, belonging, and the complexity of human behavior. She is particularly interested in documenting cultural expressions such as traditions and folklore, social rituals, and subcultural communities, through a personal and subjective lens and a costumbrista vision of contemporary life. Rather than aiming for factual documentation, she focuses on capturing sensations, atmospheres, and mood—evoking the emotional texture of a moment rather than the fact itself.
